Annual Accounts in Glasgow

Year-end accounts prepared and filed with Companies House and HMRC, on time and without the last-minute scramble.

Glasgow, Greater Glasgow

Annual Accounts Built Around Glasgow Businesses

Glasgow’s city centre agencies and consultancies are typically small limited companies with a founder or two drawing a mix of salary and dividends. The year end is straightforward where that has been planned; where dividends have been taken without reference to distributable profits, it becomes a more difficult conversation about whether they were lawful.

Glasgow is home to the largest concentration of small and growing businesses in our service area, from city-centre agencies and consultancies to e-commerce and tech businesses trading nationally. We work with Glasgow-based owners through cloud accounting and video calls where that suits them, or in person when a face-to-face meeting is worth the short drive from our Uddingston base.

Local FAQ

Glasgow Questions, Answered.

Can we take dividends whenever the bank balance allows?

No, dividends can only be paid from distributable profits, and a healthy bank balance is not the same thing, particularly with VAT and corporation tax accruing in it. Checking before drawing avoids a difficult correction later.

Do you work with businesses across Glasgow, or just the south side?

We work with businesses across the whole of Glasgow and its wider commuter belt, from city centre to west end, south side and beyond, remotely via cloud accounting and video calls, with in-person meetings available given our base just outside the city.

You are based in Uddingston. Does that matter for a Glasgow business?

Not in practice. Uddingston is on the south-east edge of Glasgow, a short drive or train ride from the city centre, so meeting in person is easy when it helps. Day to day, the bookkeeping, reporting and review calls all run through cloud accounting and video, exactly as they would with a city-centre firm, without city-centre office overheads in the fee.

What kind of Glasgow businesses do you work with?

Owner-managed businesses that have outgrown a once-a-year accountant: agencies, consultancies and professional services, e-commerce and online businesses trading across the UK, hospitality and retail, and trades working across the city. Typically sole traders and limited companies with a handful of staff up to a few million in turnover.

Can we switch to you from our current Glasgow accountant?

Yes, and it can happen part-way through the year. With your permission we contact your current accountant for professional clearance and the prior year figures, take over access to Xero or QuickBooks, and pick up from there so no filing deadline is missed.
