Bookkeeping Services

Accurate, reconciled books kept current in Xero, so every report, VAT return and tax bill starts from clean data, for small businesses across Glasgow, Lanarkshire and the UK.

What you get

Clean Books, Kept Up to Date

Every figure you rely on, from your VAT return to your year-end accounts to the bank balance you plan around, is only as good as the bookkeeping underneath it. We code your transactions, reconcile the bank, keep track of who owes you and who you owe, and keep receipts attached, so the books are right every month rather than rescued once a year.

Because the same team also prepares management and annual accounts, there is no handover gap: the bookkeeping is done to the standard the reporting needs, not just enough to file.

  • Recording & Categorising Transactions

Ensuring your financial records are always up to date.

  • Bank Reconciliation

Keeping your accounts accurate and aligned with your bank statements.

  • Ensuring Compliance

Helping you meet HMRC requirements and financial regulations.

  • Payroll & Expense Management

Managing staff wages, expenses, and financial obligations.

  • VAT & Tax Record Maintenance

Keeping track of VAT and tax filings to avoid surprises.

Is it time?

Signs It Is Time to Hand Over the Bookkeeping

  • You are catching up on the books in the evenings or the weekend before the VAT return is due.

  • The bank reconciliation in Xero is months behind, or has never quite balanced.

  • You are not sure which customers have paid, or which supplier bills are still outstanding.

  • Your accountant sends a long list of queries every year end, and the fee goes up because of it.

  • Making Tax Digital for Income Tax applies to you from April 2026 or 2027, and your records are not ready.

  • The business has grown past the point where a shoebox of receipts and a spreadsheet will do.

How it works

From First Call to Up and Running

  1. Step 1

    Free 30-minute call

We look at how the books are kept today, the volume of transactions and what you need, then agree a fixed monthly fee.

  2. Step 2

    Catch-up and set-up

If the books are behind we bring them up to date, tidy the chart of accounts and connect bank feeds and receipt capture in Xero.

  3. Step 3

    Monthly bookkeeping

Transactions coded, bank reconciled, sales and purchase ledgers kept current, with any queries batched into one short list.

  4. Step 4

    Ready for what comes next

VAT returns, management accounts and year-end accounts all start from books that are already right.

Glasgow & Lanarkshire

Bookkeeping for Glasgow & Lanarkshire Businesses

For Glasgow and Lanarkshire owners, bookkeeping is usually the job that slips first: trades and logistics businesses with stock, vans and subcontractors, and city-centre service businesses where the owner is also the salesperson. We work remotely through Xero for most clients, and our Uddingston base means clients across Glasgow and Lanarkshire can hand over a box of paperwork in person when they need to.

FAQ

Bookkeeping Questions.

What does an outsourced bookkeeper actually do?

Records and codes every sale and purchase, reconciles the bank accounts, keeps track of what customers owe and what you owe suppliers, and makes sure VAT is recorded correctly. The result is a set of books that agrees with the bank and is ready for VAT returns and accounts.

Do you only do bookkeeping in Xero?

Xero is what we recommend and what most clients use; we are a Xero Partner. We also work with QuickBooks, and can move you onto cloud software from spreadsheets or desktop packages.

Can you catch up books that are months behind?

Yes. Catch-up work is common, and we quote it separately from the monthly fee so you know the cost up front.

Does Making Tax Digital change my bookkeeping?

For VAT-registered businesses it already applies. For Income Tax it starts in April 2026 for sole traders and landlords with qualifying income over £50,000, and April 2027 over £30,000, with quarterly digital updates to HMRC. Records have to be kept in compatible software, which is exactly how we keep them.

How much does bookkeeping cost?

A fixed monthly fee based on how many transactions you have and what is included, agreed before we start.
